A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after a success.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Physical Education, from California State University, Sacramento in 2004. Then I earned my single-subject Physical Education teaching credential from the same college in 2005. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University.
I have been teaching physical at a small school district in Northern California for nine years. I currently teach 6th-8th grade. I also teach our student leadership class. I enjoy my job very much and, except for motherhood, can't think of any job that is better suited for me. I work hard to provide a quality physical education for all of my students. I try to model the same qualities for my students that I do for my son. I use "teachable moments" to promote self-sufficiency, respect, responsibility, compassion, patience, and hard work.
